Summertime in the South calls for iced tea, there's just no way around it.
I love to make mine with Trader Joe's White Pomegranate tea, and I make a concentrate to save fridge space.
Doesn't that look delicious? Want to make some?
Get your teabags ready.
Use twice as many teabags as cups of water you will boil.
I used 12 teabags and boiled 6 cups of water.
Wait until the water is just about to boil.
Wrap your teabag strings around a chopstick
(thank you, Pinterest) and lay across your pot like so.
Turn the stove off and set the timer for 4-5 minutes.
Add sugar or honey at this point so it dissolves,
if you like your tea sweet.
I used turbinado.
Take out your teabags. Squeeze them if you can to get that
concentrated concentrate into the pot.
Let your tea cool to room temperature, otherwise you risk cracking the container you're pouring it into, if it's glass. Been there... So has Dear.
Put ice in each glass and fill with half tea concentrate, half water.
Garnish with mint. Look at that gorgeous color. Quaff. Be refreshed.
(Be sure to refrigerate leftover tea; it'll grow fuzzy spots. ... done that.)
"Quaff. Be refreshed."
ReplyDeleteWell, when you put it that way ... How could I not??
Hannah, I knew you'd like "quaff." =)
